Class burnout
I have a warlock sitting at 47% through 69. She’s been there for about 4 weeks. Why? Well, I think it’s because I’m just kind of burnt out on playing a warlock.
Everyone will have their favorite class. BRK and Pike show a decided preference for hunters. Karthis and Phaelia speak to druids.
But there are all sorts of people who play several classes: Gwaendar, Ess, Ratshag to name the ones I read most regularly. I don’t know why the others play multiple toons, (challenge, multiple experiences in the game, other more personal reasons, I’m sure), but I know why I do. I get burned out on playing just one character all the time. Even when I look at Flaime, my druid “Main” and longest played character…I barely made it to 40 before I just had to try something else. Especially when hitting that 40s grind in Vanilla WoW…It was a killer.
There are aspects about each class that I happen to like (druids adapablility, rogues and hunter sheer damage output, mages crowd control, the sheer survivability of pallies and warlocks (yes, warlocks)). But I get bored with a steady diet of the same routine over and over again. And then I switch to something else.
Right now, I raid on my druid once in a while, and occasionally on my mage. And I’m having a blast leveling my hunter and rogue. But my warlock will probably sit at 69 and likely my paladin will be stuck at 60 for a while. I’m tired of them and that isn’t all that fun.
