Everyone does it…spends some time in the auction house. I’ve been spending rather more time in the AH than I want to lately. See, I have 3 70s. But I only have 1 epic riding skill. Because the epic riding skill is 5000g. And, if I actually want to PLAY, I don’t have time to do 25 dailies on 3 characters every day. Actually, I usually only do 6 dailies and usually just on 1 character. So, I supplement.

But it has become slower going lately. As more and more people start using tools like Auctioneer, bargains are becoming rarer and rarer. And I don’t spend enough time on my auction alt to really try some of the other lucrative approaches, like cornering the market on a trade good reagent. Again, I’d rather play.

But one thing I have been noticing is people putting items up for bids that are below vendor. So, if you have the patience to sort through the pages and pages of green auctions, you can occasionally make money by bidding on items posted for less than vendor price. and vendoring them. Not a ton (I rarely make more than 10g a week this way). But every little bit helps.

Of course, Earthen Ring has a pretty mature economy, with a lot of AH specialists. Younger servers have a lot more opportunities for bargains.
