Upgrading azerothisburning.com
I’m now in the process of upgrading Azeroth is Burning to Word Press 2.5.1…Why am I just doing it now?? Well, cause my hosting place picked Word Press as the blogging software they do default installs with. Using Fantastico. Fantastico just implemented the upgrade recently and so I have just started upgrading. I’ll probably also be looking for a new theme, as Dark City has some inherent problems that I’m not good enough with HTML to figure out. Hopefully, there will be no disruptions to the blog while this work is going on:D.

Fanstico is awesome for people who don’t know much about MySQL and want everything done for you with minimal hassle. I’ve used that a lot in the past. However, I’ve found that some hosts don’t update their copies on a regular basis and I’ve seen sites with very outdated CMSes running — a dangerous thing when an upgrade or patch was released for security vulnerabilities. Keep in mind that 2.5.1 was released the final week (or so!) of April and it was released with security fixes!
Wordpress also has a add on that will upgrade for you. I’ve heard of some people who have successfully used that in the past. Wish I could remember the name of it so that I could share it; I think it even reminds you if you have an out-of-date copy of Wordpress!
