BlogAzeroth Shared Topic: Preparing for Wrath of the Lich King
The World of Warcraft blogosphere and news pages are abuzz with WOTLK alpha leaks and prospective talents and such. Honestly, I haven’t been paying much attention to it. Too much will change between now and release to value what’s happening in the alpha much. On the other hand, that does mean that WOTLK isn’t a distant vision anymore. So, Phealia of Resto4Life asks what we are doing to prepare for the upcoming expansion.
In my case, I have 3 70s and am hoping to have 2 more before the expansion hits. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that I might even have 6 total. So what am I doing? Well, I’m trying to save up some badges and top out my gear as best I can for each of my characters. And leveling trade skills, especially leatherworking, tailoring, and blacksmithing. Already have a 375 Jewelcrafter and Alchemist.
I want to get Flaime his Staff of the Forest Lord before the expansion. There are several other pieces of badge gear that would be nice, but they aren’t vital. I’d like to pick up decent kits for both Chingching and Anyette, but if I go into WOTLK in mostly blues for them, well I can live with that. Grobber and Janeholy will almost certainly hit the expasion in greens and blues.
I want to get some more PvP experience under my belt on Flaime and Anyette. They are likely to be my primary PvP characters unless I somehow get Dumont to 70 before the expansion.
I want to get some basic important mats saved up: a decent quantity of herbs, sufficient ores and refined bars, lots of netherweave. I have created a private guild for Eirin and have a guild bank for her, so I can store a fair amount there and I will be trying to fill it up.
Flying mounts and epic flying mounts would be nice, but I don’t know how much use they will get. Hopefully they will create a faster land based mount for all this new “Azeroth” content.
So those are my vague and loose plans for preparing for the expansion.
Other thoughts: I’m happy that the raids will come with both 10 and 25 man components. I feel most comfortable raiding with a 10-man raid. There’s a very low possibility of people you just hate to play with making it into a 10-man. In this day and age, you almost have to put up with someone you hate playing with in a 25-man. We’ll see how it all shakes out. But I do know that I’m taking a couple days off the week Wrath comes out:D…
