Cat Leveling gear (Part 2 - Shoulders and Cloaks)
Shoulders:
Baseline: I’m going to split the difference on this one…I know a lot of people probably did the grind for at least the S1 PvP shoulders, or even the S2 PvP shoulders, but I’m trying to baseline on easily acquired PvE gear, so I’m going to baseline with the Mantle of Pernold, mostly because COT: Old Hillsbrad is a pretty easy instance and I saw it drop with pretty decent regularity.
The first opportunity for upgrade is the Cured Mammoth Hide Mantle, a quest reward in Coldarra from Have They No Shame.
At 73, you can pick up the Fangsever Shoulderguards, the reward from Hour of the Worg, or the Shoulderpads of Abhorrence from The Faceless Ones. Either will last you till the next upgrade.
Which occurs at 78:
The Eviscerator’s Shoulderpads are crafted.
The Charred Leather Shouldguards are the reward for Diametrically Opposed.
The Spaulders of Frozen Knives are available from the Son’s of Hodir at honored.
And the Ceremonial Pyre Mantle drops in Utguard Pinnacle off High King Ymiron.
At 80, you can get the Sprinting Shoulderpads off Elder Nadox in Heroic Ahn’Kahet or the Spaulders of the Careless Thief from Grand Magus Telestra in Heroic Nexus, but the crafted Trollwoven Spaulders or the BOE Spaulders of Egotism would be the top choices.
Cloaks:
I’m going to baseline cloaks off the Nomad’s Woven Cloak, which is a pretty easy to get quest reward.
At 70, there are some immediate upgrades from quests:
The Shroud of Fluid Strikes from Prisoner of War;
The Seared Scale Cape from Keep the Secret Safe;
The Durable Worghide Cloak from Travel to Moa’ki Harbor.
At 71, you can get and use the Honorborn Cloak from Leave Nothing to Chance.
The next upgrades come at 76:
Cloak of the Deadliest Game from Post-Partum Depression;
Cloak of the Buzzing Swarm from Making Peace.
At 77;
The Bloodbane Cloak from The Fate of Bloodbane;
The Embrace of Sorrow which drops off the Maiden of Grief in the Halls of Stone.
At 78, there is the Centrifuge Core Cloak, which drops from Varos Cloudstrider in The Occulus.
At 80 there are the following:
the crafted Ice Striker’s Cloak;
The Cloak of the Gushing Wound from Erekum in Heroic Violet Hold;
And the emblem purchasable Hammerhead Sharkskin Cloak.
